Very Advanced, super challenging "Try This"
for Fluidity: continuous, smooth and flowing movement in tango.
Why so cheap?
I don't really consider squeezing my brain for lots of cool, short and
fluid sequences to be teaching. It is more like a lot of fun.
Why just 1.5 hours?
Going at a rate of, I hope, 1 sequence-ette every 2 minutes can only be
done for so long. We will also take a 10 minute break in the middle.
Why sequence-ettes?
How else to teach fluidity?
I can think of a few other ways, which I plan to think about some more next year, but
lots of fluid sequence-ettes (kata) is certainly one way to do it, and
it is also a whole lot of fun.
The movement elements we will use:
steps, pivots, X-es, ochos, giro, barridas, sacadas, ganchos, boleos,
paradas, alterations.
Optionally: we might add in some little hangings (colgadas) depending
upon the class and how it goes.
Just about every sort of embrace will be used, such as close, medium,
open, parallel and offset.
You've said we will use "paradas" which usually means stopping?
Yes, but you can do paradas without completely stopping and still
maintain fluidity.
